“A Journey of 1000 miles begins…”

What is your Audacious Goal?  Your Vision of Success?  Is it a  dream of launching your own business? Is there a Book that has been sitting on your heart?  Maybe a change of direction or environment?  A different Career Path or maybe a move to another city in which you can restart afresh?  What  is holding you back?

Taking the first step is always the hardest part. Speaking Life into new Audacious Goals can sometimes be overwhelming.  It can be overthought which leads to “Paralysis by Analysis”.  As you over-analyze, doubt and fear starts to seep in.  Fear causes you to seek refuge in places that are familiar or comfortable.  You find this sought after refuge in the same familiar and comfortable places from which you have been yearning to break free.  This fear coerces you to settle once more for what you have become accustomed to and your journey is delayed yet again.

How do you break free?

Breaking free begins with you accepting the fact that fear is a part of the journey.  Moving away from familiarity and comfort is an exploration into the unknown and undiscovered.  You must embrace the unknown and remember your purpose. What are the things that are waiting for you on the other side of your fear?  Opportunity?  Success?  Greatness?  How will you know unless you take a step?  Faith is greater than fear.  Faith is the belief and confidence that the things that you want will happen, even when fear clouds your vision to see exactly how.

It’s that first step that will get you moving toward speaking life into your Audacious Goal.  Try not to over analyze and think about the 501st step.  Begin with actionable Step 1.  Goals are achieved one step at a time.  It won’t happen all at once.  Small wins amass to become bigger wins.  Small steps overtime transform to gigantic strides.  Before long you are hurdling at a rapid pace toward your success.

Choosing to not face your fears.

Fear, when not faced, can be debilitating.  It sows ever deepening seeds of doubt. You might think:

  • What if I fail?
  • How will I make money?
  • What will people think?
  • What if I’m no good?
  • What if it’s not the right time to do it?
  • Am I ready for this?

The truth is that success is not guaranteed if you decide to press forward into the unknown.  However, failure is certainly guaranteed if you choose to succumb to fear and stay in place.  Choosing to not face your fears won’t kill you.   It only kills your dreams, hopes and aspirations for something higher and better.

No one can guarantee that you’ll succeed. But, you’ll never know how it’s going to turn out unless you first step!
